Ward-Potts Jewelers was established in Nashville, Tennessee in 1978 when Andrew Potts and Ben Ward realized that unique merchandise and good service were never out of style. The two owners, having an early background in sales and customer service outside the jewelry industry and later in the jewelry industry knew the time was right to strike out on their own and open a jewelry store. The client base grew and the small jewelry store expanded its product lines and continued to grow for eight years until it was time to move to a larger location. In 1985, the Green Hills area of Nashville was just awakening as a retail destination and a prime location was secured in the Bandywood Fashion Square.
The Green Hills neighborhood continued to grow and so did Ward-Potts. The store could have followed the trend and focused on mass produced jewelry like the large corporations but Ward and Potts saw the need to devote their talents to developing a very special store with unique and one of a kind jewelry items. In 2004, Bill and Cyndi Sites bought Ward-Potts Jewelers with the intent to carry on the traditions established by Ward and Potts. Bill and Cyndi Sites, owners of Sites Jewelers in Clarksville, Tennessee were very much aware of the importance of a family owned and operated business.
Sites Jewelers was established in 1922 and Bill is the third generation in the 85 year old firm that was affiliated with the American Gem Society, a non-profit professional organization of jewelry stores whose membership must be re-earned yearly through written examination. American Gem Society membership is based on gemological education, professional ethics and consumer protection. With the education credentials of Bill, Certified Gemologist and Cyndi, Registered Jeweler, Ward-Potts was accepted into membership in 2004. Each buying season presents the opportunity to search and acquire some of the most unique and beautiful jewelry and gemstones available as the owners continue the tradition of service and quality. |
